Adrienne Fine American Dining located on 218 Kent Road (route 7) near the scenic Housatonic River in New Milford Connecticut invites an experience that is at once unique and immediately satisfying. Adrienne’s was founded in 1996. The restaurant resides in a white colonial house built in the 1700’s, which adds to the quaint New England charm that inhabit the culinary creations and general ambiance. The dining experience reminds one of being at home, comfortable and at ease. Chef and Owner, Adrienne, brings three decades of experience, and an ever-present passion for food in each and every dish she creates. A highlight is their seasonal menu featuring many game dishes, locally raised if available: from venison and pheasant to quail and lamb. Dishes include seasonal vegetables, locally grown where possible, and enhance the fresh and aesthetic appeal. Presentation and preparation are second only to taste and freshness. A sample meal might start off with an appetizer of Smoked Salmon with Granny Smith apples and Wasabi Mascarpone cream ($11.95), then perhaps a salad of Spinach with Ripe Connecticut pears, spicy nuts and Vermont goat cheese ($9.95). For your entrée how about grilled farm raised Venison, roasted acorn squash, fresh watercress and port wine sauce ($32.50). And to enhance your meal choose from a rather extensive wine list. Top off your evening by treating yourself to a fine selection from their dessert menu ($8.95 each): from homemade ice creams and sorbets to cheesecake and crème brulee with fresh berries. Another finer point to note is that their menu indicates whether a dish is vegetarian, low carb, and or gluten free. If special diet needs are required (as due to food allergy or restriction) let them know, as they will be more than happy to meet your needs. Service is friendly and don’t be surprised when the Chef comes around to ask you if everything is to your satisfaction. In addition catering is available for most any occasion. On-site they can accommodate a small party of two for those special moments or a group as large as sixty; limited off-site catering is also available. For some, just eating may not fully satisfy your culinary curiosities. If that is the case Chef Adrienne additionally offers (on premises) and instructs special courses on cooking and food preparation. Adrienne’s is opened Tuesday through Saturday for Dinner beginning at 5:30pm until closing (around 10pm). On Sundays Brunch is provided from 11:30am until 3:30pm. If you are looking for a uniquely inspired New England dining experience a drive to this charming and quaint New Milford establishment is highly recommended.
